The data
Which countries are covered?+
France, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Ireland, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Australia, Singapore, Japan and the United Kingdom. The API serves all 14 countries with the same format: for example FR-552032534 for a SIREN, BE-0417497106 for a Belgian enterprise number, CH-101374515 for a Swiss UID, NO-923609016 for a Norwegian organisation number, FI-01120389 for a Finnish Business ID, LV-40003245752 for a Latvian registration number, IE-104547 for an Irish company number, SE-5560427220 for a Swedish organisation number, EE-10137025 for an Estonian registry code, LT-110053842 for a Lithuanian legal entity code, AU-51824753556 for an 11-digit Australian Business Number (ABN), SG-196800306E for a Singapore UEN of 9 or 10 characters, JP-1180301018771 for a 13-digit Japanese corporate number, GB-00445790 for a UK company number. Country details are in the documentation.
Do you cover Belgium?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 2 million active Belgian enterprises and their establishment units, from the official Belgian company register. The identifier is BE- followed by the 10-digit enterprise number, for example BE-0417497106; the forms 0417.497.106, BE0417497106 and the old 9-digit number are accepted, and the modulo-97 check digits are verified. The Belgian VAT number, BE followed by the enterprise number, is verified too. The insolvency_proceedings (bankruptcy, judicial reorganisation) and liquidation (dissolution or liquidation in progress) signals come from the enterprise's juridical situation. Only active entities are served: an enterprise that has ceased is no longer found, and monitoring then reports it as removed from the register.
Do you cover Switzerland?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 795,000 active Swiss legal entities of every form (companies limited by shares, limited liability companies, sole proprietorships, cooperatives, associations, foundations, branches…), from the Swiss commercial register. The identifier is CH- followed by the 9 digits of the UID, without the CHE prefix, for example CH-101374515 for CHE-101.374.515; the forms CHE-101.374.515, CHE101374515 and the VAT number CHE-101.374.515 MWST are accepted, and the modulo-11 check digit is verified. The Swiss VAT number is verified too. The liquidation signal comes from the “in Liquidation” mention in the registered name. Establishments, legal notices and beneficial owners are not available for Switzerland.
Do you cover Norway, Finland and Latvia?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 1.2 million Norwegian legal units, sole proprietorships included, with their establishments. The identifier is NO- followed by the 9 digits of the organisation number, for example NO-923609016; the modulo-11 check digit is verified and the VAT number NO923609016MVA is accepted. It also serves about 463,000 Finnish entities (FI- followed by the 8 digits of the Business ID without the hyphen, for example FI-01120389 for 0112038-9, modulo-11 check digit verified) and about 218,000 active Latvian entities (LV- followed by the 11 digits of the registration number, for example LV-40003245752); entities that were struck off remain available. Finnish and Latvian VAT numbers are verified; the Norwegian one is read in the official VAT register. Bankruptcy and liquidation signals are provided for Norway and Finland, the liquidation signal for Latvia. Legal notices and beneficial owners are not available; establishments are only available in Norway.
Do you cover Ireland?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 345,000 active Irish companies of every form (private companies limited by shares, designated activity companies, companies limited by guarantee, public limited companies, foreign companies registered in Ireland), and about 480,000 dissolved or struck-off companies, which remain available with their date. The identifier is IE- followed by the company number, 1 to 7 digits, for example IE-104547; this number has no check digit, only its format is verified. The activity is the NACE rev. 2 class of the register, when it is given. Liquidation, administration, proposed strike-off and overdue annual return signals are provided. The Irish VAT number cannot be derived from the company number, so the VAT block is not available. Establishments, legal notices and beneficial owners are not available.
Do you cover Sweden?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 1.18 million active Swedish organisations of every form (limited companies, general and limited partnerships, housing associations, cooperatives, associations, foundations, public bodies), and about 1.03 million deregistered organisations, which remain available with their date. The identifier is SE- followed by the 10 digits of the organisation number, for example SE-5560427220 for 556042-7220; the Luhn check digit is verified. The Swedish VAT number, SE followed by the organisation number and 01, is verified too. Bankruptcy, reorganisation and liquidation signals are provided. Sole traders are not served. Establishments, legal notices and beneficial owners are not available.
Do you cover Estonia?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 355,000 Estonian entities of every form (private limited companies, public limited companies, limited and general partnerships, associations, apartment associations, foundations, cooperatives, branches, local authorities), operating, in liquidation or in bankruptcy. The identifier is EE- followed by the 8 digits of the registry code, for example EE-10137025; the check digit is verified. The Estonian VAT number (EE followed by 9 digits) is read in the register, accepted in place of the code, and verified. The activity is the declared main activity (EMTAK code). Liquidation and bankruptcy signals are provided. An entity that leaves the register is kept as closed, with no end date. Sole proprietors are not served. Establishments, legal notices and beneficial owners are not available.
Do you cover Lithuania?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 233,000 active Lithuanian legal entities of every form (private limited companies, public limited companies, small partnerships, individual enterprises, associations, public institutions, cooperatives, local authorities), and about 315,000 removed legal entities, which remain available with their date. The identifier is LT- followed by the 9 digits of the legal entity code, for example LT-110053842; the check digit is verified. The Lithuanian VAT number, LT followed by the code, is verified too. Bankruptcy and liquidation signals are provided. The register publishes no address, no activity code and no establishments. Legal notices and beneficial owners are not available.
Do you cover Australia?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 6.1 million active Australian entities (companies, trusts, partnerships, superannuation funds and sole traders) and about 6.7 million cancelled ABNs, which remain available. The identifier is AU- followed by the 11 digits of the ABN, for example AU-51824753556; the forms 51 824 753 556 and ABN 51824753556 are accepted, and the modulo-89 check is verified. The register gives neither a street nor an activity code: the address is limited to the state and the postcode. The name of a sole trader is never kept: the record is served under its trading name. VAT is not verified for Australia; registration for the goods and services tax (GST) is given as published. Closure and recent-creation signals, sanctions screening and monitoring are available; establishments, legal notices and beneficial owners are not.
Do you cover Singapore?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 635,000 active Singapore entities (local companies, sole proprietorships, partnerships, branches of foreign companies) and about 1.5 million struck-off, dissolved or ceased entities, which remain available. The identifier is SG- followed by the UEN, for example SG-196800306E; the check letter is verified. The activity is the SSIC code and the register gives no end date. Closure, recent-creation, proposed strike-off, liquidation and insolvency signals, sanctions screening and monitoring are available; establishments, legal notices and beneficial owners are not. VAT is not verified for Singapore.
Do you cover Japan?+
Yes. API v2 serves about 5.1 million active Japanese corporations and organisations and about 780,000 closed ones, which remain available with their closure date. The identifier is JP- followed by the 13 digits of the corporate number, for example JP-1180301018771; the check digit is verified. The name and the address are in Japanese, with the katakana reading and the English name when they exist; the name search finds a text of at least 2 characters in these three forms. The register gives neither an activity code nor a creation date, and sole proprietors have no number. The closure signal, sanctions screening and monitoring are available; establishments, legal notices and beneficial owners are not. VAT is not verified for Japan.
Where does the data come from?+
Jsonpage gathers, checks, harmonises and enriches the information from the official company registers of each country covered: about 5.7 million live companies in the United Kingdom, about 2 million active enterprises in Belgium, about 795,000 active legal entities in Switzerland, about 1.2 million active units in Norway, about 463,000 active entities in Finland, about 218,000 active entities in Latvia, about 345,000 active companies in Ireland, about 1.18 million active organisations in Sweden, about 355,000 active entities in Estonia, about 233,000 active legal entities in Lithuania, about 6.1 million active entities in Australia, about 635,000 active entities in Singapore, about 5.1 million active corporations and organisations in Japan and all French companies and establishments. On top of that come legal notices, public regulatory information and international sanctions lists. The result: up-to-date data, in the same format across the 14 countries, with verified VAT in Europe. Responses are in JSON, with a typical server-side response time of a few milliseconds.
Is the data up to date?+
Yes. The data comes from the official registers of each country and from international sanctions lists, and is kept up to date. Every API response shows the date of the data used. View the service status
What does diffusion status “P” mean?+
Status “P” means partial disclosure requested by the person concerned. Names and addresses are never stored or returned; the identifier, activity and status remain available.
Why might a lookup return “not found”?+
A 404 response means the identifier does not exist, was mistyped, or the entity is not yet entered in the register. Check the format: 9 digits for a SIREN and 14 for a SIRET, made up of the SIREN plus a 5-digit NIC.
Is the sanctions screening reliable?+
It is indicative. The sanctions block of API v2, available for France, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Ireland, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Australia, Singapore, Japan and the United Kingdom, compares the company with the main international and national sanctions lists (European Union, United Nations, United Kingdom, United States and France), by registration number and by name. Only entities are compared, never natural persons. No match is not a guarantee and does not replace your own checks (KYC, anti-money-laundering), as stated in the Terms.
Do you provide beneficial owners?+
In the United Kingdom, yes: the owners block of API v2 lists the current persons with significant control (PSC), as entered in the British register, without address or day of birth. In France and Belgium, no: the register of beneficial owners is no longer public since 31 July 2024, and access is reserved to authorities, obliged professionals and persons with a legitimate interest; they are not available for Belgium either. Nor in Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Ireland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Australia, Singapore or Lithuania: the registers do not publish them.
Integrate the service
How do I authenticate?+
Each call sends an API key in the X-API-Key header. A key is shown only once, when it is created, and the server keeps only a hash of it. From the dashboard (API keys), you can create, name, rotate and revoke your keys: a rotated key keeps working for 24 hours, while you deploy the new one; a revoked key stops working immediately.
Can I have several API keys?+
Yes, on a paid plan: up to 3 active keys at the same time on Standard and 10 on Pro (1 on Discovery). Give each one a name, such as production, staging or a customer's name, to recognise them in the dashboard. To change a key without any service interruption, rotate it: the new key works immediately and the old one stays valid for 24 hours, then is disabled. A revoked key, on the other hand, stops working immediately.
What is the difference between SIREN and SIRET?+
A SIREN identifies a company with 9 digits. A SIRET identifies an establishment with 14 digits: the SIREN followed by a 5-digit NIC.
How do I restrict my key to certain IP addresses?+
On the Pro plan, the dashboard accepts up to 20 IP addresses or address ranges, IPv4 or IPv6 (for example 203.0.113.10 or 203.0.113.0/24), and shows your current address so that you can add it easily. The list applies to every key of the account: a request from another address is rejected with the code 403 ip_not_allowed. An empty list accepts every address.
How do I search for a company by name?+
With API v2: GET /v2/companies?q= followed by the name, for example q=danone. Every word must appear in the name and the last one can be the start of a word (“dano” finds DANONE); case, accents and punctuation are ignored. Exact names come first, then active companies. The country, status and limit parameters narrow the search, which counts as a single request. Units with partial diffusion (status “P”) cannot be found by name.
How do I add company autocomplete to a form?+
Your form calls an endpoint of your server, which adds your API key and calls GET /v2/autocomplete?q= followed by the text typed: never call the API directly from the browser, the key would be visible. Wait about 150 ms after the last keystroke before each call. Each suggestion gives the identifier, the name, the postal code and the city, in a few milliseconds; a SIREN or SIRET typed finds the company directly. Once the company is chosen, GET /v2/validate checks the SIREN, the SIRET and the VAT number in one call. Each call counts as one request. A complete server-side example is in the documentation.
What happens if I exceed my request rate?+
The API returns status 429 and the Retry-After header, which gives the number of seconds to wait. Every response, on every plan, also includes the X-RateLimit-Remaining header, which gives the number of requests left in the current minute. Retry after the indicated delay, with increasing backoff if needed.
How do I get alerted when a company changes?+
With API v2 monitoring: PUT /v2/monitors/{id} adds a company to your list, for example FR-552032534. Jsonpage compares the monitored companies with the official registers, legal notices, beneficial owners and sanctions lists; each change of status, name, address, activity, legal form, signals, legal announcements, sanctions or beneficial owners becomes an event. You receive it on your webhook, set up in the dashboard (Monitoring) and signed with HMAC-SHA256, or you read it with GET /v2/events, which keeps events for 90 days. The Discovery plan (free) monitors 2 companies, Standard 1,000 and Pro 10,000. Each call to the monitoring endpoints counts as one request; webhook deliveries are not counted. A change is reported once it is entered in the official registers.
Can monitoring alerts arrive by email?+
Yes. In addition to the webhook and GET /v2/events, the dashboard lets you receive events by email, either as soon as they are detected or as a daily summary. Alerts go to 1 address on Discovery, up to 3 on Standard and up to 10 on Pro, in French, English, Dutch or German. Emails do not count as requests.
How do I enrich a customer or supplier file?+
In the dashboard, upload your CSV file and choose the identifier column: SIREN, SIRET, French, Belgian, Norwegian, Finnish or Latvian VAT numbers, Swiss UIDs (with or without MWST), Finnish Business IDs, or global identifiers such as FR-552032534, BE-0417497106, CH-101374515, NO-923609016, FI-01120389 or LV-40003245752. Only that column is sent. You get back a completed CSV file with, for each row, the name, status, legal form, address, activity, VAT number and status, signals, insolvency proceedings and the indicative sanctions screening. A file holds up to 10,000 rows on Standard and 100,000 on Pro; the Discovery plan allows 100 enriched rows per month; each row counts as one request. The completed file can be downloaded for 7 days.
Can I export lists of companies?+
Yes, with Standard and Pro, for French companies. Choose the activity (NAF code or division), the department, the legal form and the creation period: the dashboard shows the number of companies found and a preview, then you download the list as CSV (SIREN, name, activity, legal form, creation date and head office address). You can export 1,000 rows per calendar month on Standard and 50,000 on Pro. Lists only include active companies whose data is public; sole traders are never included. If you use them for prospecting, you remain responsible for complying with the GDPR and the rules of the CNIL, the French data protection authority: inform the companies you contact, respect their objection and do not send marketing emails to a natural person without their prior consent; to a business address, the message must relate to the person's professional activity.
Can I call the API from a browser?+
Yes, calling the API from a browser is technically possible, but every visitor could see your API key. Call the API from your server to keep the key private. The site's keyless demo is limited to 10 lookups per minute.
Choose your pace
Is there a monthly quota?+
No monthly quota on paid plans. The Discovery plan is limited to 1,000 requests per day, reset at midnight UTC. Otherwise only the request rate is limited: Discovery costs €0 with 100 requests/min and Standard costs €19 excl. VAT/month with 1,000 requests/min. Pro, at €129 excl. VAT/month, has no plan-specific rate cap; a fair-use ceiling of 10,000 requests/min per account protects the service.
What does “unlimited” mean on Pro?+
Pro has no plan-specific rate cap, but it is not without limits: a fair-use ceiling of 10,000 requests per minute per account protects the service for everyone. Above that ceiling, the API returns status 429, as on the other plans.
Is there an SLA?+
Yes, for the Pro plan: 99.9% monthly availability, with a service credit on the invoice if this commitment is not met. The Standard plan has the same target, without credits; the Discovery plan (free) is provided on a best-effort basis. The terms are set out on the SLA page.
How do I access Jsonpage?+
You can create a Free account without a bank card at jsonpage.com/account. Your API key is given as soon as you confirm your e-mail address; you can then upgrade to Standard or Pro from the dashboard. Card payments go through Stripe, and plans have no commitment period.
How are my requests counted?+
The dashboard shows the number of requests for the day and the last 30 days, with a day-by-day chart. Each call counts as one request, whatever blocks are requested. In a batch request, each company counts as one request: a batch of 100 companies counts as 100; likewise, each row of an enriched file counts as one request. The request log details every call over 7 days on Discovery, 30 days on Standard and 90 days on Pro. On a paid plan, it can be exported as CSV, like your monitored companies and your events.
Pay and manage your plan
How do I pay?+
Fixed price, no credits. Payment is made by card through Stripe, monthly or yearly, with an invoice for each payment. Prices exclude taxes: Standard at €19/month or €182/year excl. VAT, Pro at €129/month or €1,238/year excl. VAT. The Discovery plan (free) requires no card.
Do you offer yearly billing?+
Yes, for Standard and Pro, with a 20% discount: €182 excl. VAT per year instead of €228 for Standard, and €1,238 excl. VAT per year instead of €1,548 for Pro. Choose yearly payment when you subscribe, or switch from monthly to yearly in the Stripe customer portal. The year is paid in advance and renews automatically; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid year, with no prorated refund.
How do I change plan or cancel?+
In the dashboard (Subscription), the “Manage subscription and invoices” button opens the Stripe customer portal. There you can change plans, cancel and download your invoices. Plans carry no commitment: a cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, month or year.
What happens if my payment fails?+
Stripe retries the payment automatically. Meanwhile, the subscription is past due and your paid plan stays active. If the payment is not recovered, the account returns to the Discovery plan (free).
