One API per country, or just one
Jsonpage searches the companies of 14 countries with the same routes and returns the same record everywhere. Here is how it works, country by country, with sample calls.
Each country has its register, its number and its format: 9 digits in France, 10 in Belgium, a code ending in a letter in Singapore. Plugging in one service per country means as many contracts, response formats and error cases to handle.
With a multi-country API, your code knows one format: it reads the same status field for a Norwegian or an Australian company, and adding a country takes no development.
The 14 countries and their identifiers
The global identifier is the national number with the country code in front. The usual forms are accepted too: with or without spaces, dots or hyphens, and the VAT number when it contains the company number.
| Country | National number | Identifier in the API |
|---|---|---|
| France | SIREN, 9 digits | FR-552032534 |
| Belgium | Enterprise number, 10 digits | BE-0417497106 |
| Switzerland | UID (CHE), 9 digits | CH-101374515 |
| United Kingdom | Company number | GB-00445790 |
| Ireland | Company number | IE-104547 |
| Norway | Organisation number, 9 digits | NO-923609016 |
| Sweden | Organisation number, 10 digits | SE-5560427220 |
| Finland | Business ID | FI-01120389 |
| Estonia | Registry code, 8 digits | EE-10137025 |
| Latvia | Registration number, 11 digits | LV-40003245752 |
| Lithuania | Legal entity code, 9 digits | LT-110053842 |
| Australia | ABN, 11 digits | AU-51824753556 |

Search a company by name
The name search works in one country, with country, or in all countries at once. Exact names come first, then active companies:
curl -H "X-API-Key: $JSONPAGE_API_KEY" \
"https://api.jsonpage.com/v2/companies?q=equinor&country=NO"
For a form, the autocomplete route suggests companies as the user types, with the same country filter.
Read a record, whatever the country
With the global identifier, a single route returns the record:
curl -H "X-API-Key: $JSONPAGE_API_KEY" \
"https://api.jsonpage.com/v2/companies/BE-0417497106"
The base record is the same in every country: identifier, name, status, legal form, address and date of the last update. A few fields stay empty where the country does not publish them, such as the activity in Latvia or the street address in Australia:
{
"data": {
"id": "BE-0417497106",
"country": "BE",
"registry_id": "0417497106",
"name": "...",
"status": "active",
"legal_form": { "code": "...", "label": "..." },
"address": { "postal_code": "...", "city": "...", "country": "BE" },
"updated_at": "..."
}
}
Find a number without knowing the country
A number arrives alone in a file, with no country? The registry_id parameter looks it up in every country served and returns the companies that carry it:
curl -H "X-API-Key: $JSONPAGE_API_KEY" \
"https://api.jsonpage.com/v2/companies?registry_id=923609016"
The price does not depend on the country
Every country is included in every plan, including the free Discovery plan. The price is a fixed monthly plan: no credits, no extra charge for international lookups. The full set of selection criteria is in the company data API comparison.

France, Belgium, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Australia, Singapore and Japan.

Do I need a more expensive plan for other countries?+
No. Every country is included in every plan, including the free one.
Can I search all countries at once?+
Yes: without the country parameter, the name search covers every country, and registry_id looks up a number everywhere.
