The PrestaShop module: the company fills in by itself

The Jsonpage module adds company autocomplete, the company number and a VAT check to the PrestaShop address form. Where other modules only check a number when it is typed, it fills in the record and applies the exemption.

What the plugin does

  • Autocomplete from 3 letters. One click fills in the company name, the address, the city, the country and the VAT number.
  • VAT verified. The number is checked when the address is saved, with the choice to refuse the address, flag it or charge VAT.
  • Automatic exemption. A valid number from another country than the shop removes the tax from the cart and the order.
  • Closed company flagged. You choose: refuse the address, flag the order for review, or do nothing.
  • Status on the order and the invoice. The number, its status and the verification date appear in the order, for the customer and on the PDF invoice.
  • Never blocking in an outage. If the service does not answer, the address is saved, the order goes through and the check is repeated later.

Install in three steps

  1. Install the module. In the back office, Modules then Module Manager, upload the Jsonpage module.
  2. Create a free account. In the module configuration, the button opens the sign-up; copy the API key from the dashboard.
  3. Paste the key and save. Choose your countries and behaviours, test the connection: autocomplete is on.

Compatibility

PrestaShop 1.7.6 to 9. Checks that could not be made are repeated from an address to call once an hour, shown in the module configuration.

Data kept

On the address and on the order, the module stores only the VAT number, the verification status and the verification date. Results are kept for 24 hours to limit calls. The module calls Jsonpage from your server: the key never appears in the browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is the module free?+

Yes. It works with a Jsonpage API key: the free account is enough to start, and the Standard and Pro plans are for busy shops.

How does it differ from other VAT modules?+

It does not stop at checking a number when it is typed: it suggests the company while the customer types and fills in the address and the company number.

Where does the status appear on the invoice?+

The VAT number is printed by the standard PrestaShop invoice, and the module adds a line with the status, the verification date and the exemption mention.

What happens if Jsonpage does not answer?+

No order is blocked. The address is saved, the order shows "to be checked again" and the check is repeated later.
